High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. This is a nice place to go with the family, food is pretty good, and service is always great. We love te half price appetizers and drink specials that they have. They're pretzels are delicious and my husband loves their boneless wings. Cheap PBR and Long Island Iced Teas. They're club sandwich is really good and my husband loves their steak. I would NOT recommend the tomato basil soup nor their mashed potatoes. Both are not appetizing to me.

I like Applebee's. I especially love their half price apps after 9pm. Full sized apps for half off at a restaurant is awesome. The place is always clean and the service is always friendly. and I have never had a problem with their food. It always comes out hot and fresh. My favorite appetizer is by far, the Honey BBQ Boneless Wings. My favorite entree is the Bourbon Street Steak. I go to Applebee's about once every few weeks and sometimes more often for the half price apps. I will continue this trend for as long as I can afford to,

First off if I could give 1/2 a star I would. The only positive thing that came out of our attempted visit on Sunday 5/31 was that the hostess was pleasant when we entered the door. Upon arriving we were asked if there were 2 people in our party, when all 3 of us were standing together, it may have made a difference had the hostess ACTUALLY been making eye contact with us instead of seeing what someone else was doing. We were asked if a table near the bar was fine to which we agreed, we sat for a couple of minutes and no one had acknowledged us, I excused my self to go to the restroom & had asked my wife to order me an iced tea if the server came around. I went to the restroom which was in horrible shape, not much is worse than seeing an absolutely disgusting restroom, I usually will leave after seeing something like that but did not. I came back to the table and we began to look over the menus, there were some new items & since my wife and I are dieting it was taking us a while to make up our minds. After about 10 minutes we had decided what we wanted, it was then I had noticed that we still hadn't got our drinks. I asked my wife if the server had come by yet to which she replied no. We waited at least another 5 minutes maybe longer, many servers had come by our table I counted at least 3 in fact one server was busy chatting at a table right next to ours. Now granted we may not have been her table however she didn't even glance over. So after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to come over AFTER WE had been seated we decided to leave. As soon as we got up the hostess that greeted us came over and asked us if someone had been over to help us, we replied no & stated that we would be leaving. Her reply was ok, well have a nice afternoon. No apology, no attempt to find a server, no attempt to find a manager. This is one of many events that showed the decline of customer service in the restaurant. Some people from my church will usually go after Wednesday nights to take advantage of the 1/2 price appetizers, the appetizers you can tell are not freshly made they taste as if they have been sitting awhile, granted we arrive at 9pm but if you are open your customer service experience should not drop, it seems as though that not only are the appetizers 1/2 price, but the quality of the food is as well, & the service you receive. Numerous instances of average service at best, waiters & waitresses that smell like cigarette smoke. One instance my wife ordered something with mashed potatoes the server placed the plate down in front of her & her thumb was in the potatoes! When my wife pointed it out (which I'm sorry if your food is hot when you bring it out you know if your thumb is in the food) she asked if we would like it replaced. Are you kidding me?! Yes, she took the plate back and came back minutes later, you could tell they had just scrapped them off and plopped a new scoop on there. Maybe this is common practice but I feel the entire dish should have been remade. This was one of our frequent stops, my oldest loves the place, however in light of recent experiences and because of this last one in particular I am not sure how soon we will be back. I know that it will not be recommended or suggested by us and we would have to consider it strongly if friends want to dine here. On average a family of 4 can spend 40-60 dollars with drinks for a meal here, the service should be much better than what has been offered here lately.

Yuck. Bad food, lousy service, - but hey, it is an applebees, what are you expecting. My biggest problem with the place is that the smoking and non-smoking sections are roughly a foot apart, so even if you are in the "non smoking" section, you can still be seated right next to a table of smokers.

Friday night, full house. Sat at the bar, plenty of room. Had cool touch screen devices to place orders on the fly. Didn't even need to wait for a server. Bartender Sue was AWESOME. Our server Brandy, she was awesome too. Fast and accurate. Whenever we needed them they were right there. fast service. I'd come back.

As a customer I don't care if you're "double seating" a waitress. I shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes to sit when there are 10 plus booths open. I also would like to have my question answered without an attitude and an eye roll. If you don't like customer service you should work somewhere without customers. I'm still about to drop $60 here on my family because my wife likes the wings. I'd rather filter sewer water through a hikers sock than let this garbage taste my tongue. The only saving grace is my waitress seems decent.. Yet they've fooled me before.

I've always enjoyed great steaks here at Applebee's, can't ever complain. Wait staff is usually good and the place is always busy so must be doing something right.

You know what Applebee's is like and this is no different. I have to say that the food here is maybe a bit below average compared to other Applebee's. I do love half price appetizers after 9pm, though! For whatever reason, I do end up coming back with friends or what not once in awhile. My son keeps begging to go because they have Dinosaur Train match picture, which is a pretty hilarious way to choose where you want to go out to eat. The service is always good.

We were leery of coming to this applebees because of what I read here on yelp: lousy service being at the top of the bad things here. Our waitress however was AWESOME, did not ever have to wait long. She came by frequently. Our waters stayed above a third. And best of all she brought us WAY more chips than we coulda used for our spinach artichoke dip n salsa apps. We each had the spicy shrimp past dish off the 2 for $20, and it tasty great. Portion was big enough that even I didn't finish. This was my best experience at any Applebees.

After a long day at the College World Series, my father and I stopped to grab a quick bite to eat. The service was terrible. Our waitress took our order and that was the last time we saw her until we'd finished dinner. No drink refills (water, coffee), no checking on the food, no anything. And the food was mediocre at best. If you're in the Omaha proper area, avoid this place.

My daughter and I went here for a late lunch. The door wasn't opened for us like it normally is at an Applebee's and we had to wait about 5mins for our drink order to be taken. After that the service was perfect and our food came out quickly and tasted delicious.

While on a recent trip, we stopped here late in the evening for dinner because we were unfamiliar with the area and desperately hungry. I'd first like to state that the hostess is not at all thoughtful. It's 10:30 PM and we have a very tired 5 year-old with us, which was painfully obvious. Why the *%#$ would you place us at a table right beneath a speaker blaring incredibly loud music? Are you that oblivious to your customers? I'm sorry you have a low wage paying job, but you're a hostess - invest a little thought into your job. Under a loud speaker is the last place you should guide your guest if they have a toddler, no matter what time of day!!!!!!! My second point? TURN DOWN THE %#$( MUSIC!!!!!! I'm not *that* old, but geez, that was obnoxiously loud and I couldn't even hear my wife sitting 3 feet from me, even after we changed tables. The food was no better or worse than you should expect. It's really C grade quality of food and we ate it simply to get something in our system. I wouldn't consider Applebee's very good, and I would never eat at another unless we were desperate. I give them two stars because the waitress was very nice. Also, this was not the only Applebee's we tried on our trip and the other was worse.
